Accessibility Statement
Last updated: 3 June 2026
1. Our Commitment
I am committed to making wpguy.uk accessible to everyone, regardless of disability, assistive technology, or browsing conditions. This is not a compliance exercise — it is a professional and personal commitment.
I am a former W3C Invited Expert in web accessibility and an autistic, physically disabled person myself. I understand from direct experience what it means when a website fails to work with assistive technology, and I hold my own work to the same standard I would apply to a client's.
2. Conformance Status
This site aims for conformance with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA.
The site is built on a static Astro framework with semantic HTML5, structured heading hierarchies, appropriate ARIA where required, and sufficient colour contrast throughout. All interactive elements are keyboard navigable.
3. Known Limitations
I am not aware of any significant barriers to access on this site. However, if you encounter something that does not work as expected with your assistive technology or browsing setup, I want to know about it.
The blog contains content syndicated from external sources. Whilst I take care in formatting and structuring that content, some legacy articles may contain images without adequate alt text or tables not marked up for assistive technology. These are identified and corrected as they come to attention.
4. Technical Specifications
This site relies on the following technologies for conformance:
- ◆ HTML5
- ◆ CSS
- ◆ WAI-ARIA
The site does not depend on JavaScript for any core content or navigation. Progressive enhancement is applied throughout.
5. Assessment Approach
This site has been assessed through self-evaluation, drawing on my professional background in web accessibility standards. Assessments are conducted against WCAG 2.2 Level AA success criteria using a combination of automated tooling and manual review with keyboard-only navigation and screen reader testing.
This statement is reviewed and updated whenever significant changes are made to the site.
6. Feedback and Contact
If you experience any accessibility barrier on this site, please tell me. I take these reports seriously and will respond within 5 business days.
Email: contact@wpguy.uk
Please describe the page you were on, what you were trying to do, what assistive technology you were using, and what happened instead of what you expected. The more detail you provide, the faster I can identify and fix the issue.
7. Enforcement
If you are not satisfied with my response to an accessibility complaint, you may contact the Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC), which enforces the Equality Act 2010 in Great Britain.
In Northern Ireland, the equivalent body is the Equality Commission for Northern Ireland (ECNI).
